La Mon Hotel – Lauren and Stephen
Weddings at La Mon are always something that I look forward to as it is a super venue with loads of great photography options.
I know that the day would be fairly relaxed as Lauren and Stephen both had a laid back approach, and I was really looking forward to the day.
When I got up in the morning the sun was already beaming down and I knew it would be a scorcher.
Typically most of my weddings start at the brides house for pictures of the preparations , but in this case it was differentl because Stephen was at his parents house which was on the way . So it seemed obvious to stop off for a few groom shots. When I arrived everything was very chilled , and meeting the family and the men I just knew the craic would be great.
Leaving the boys early I then drove to Ballygowan where Lauren was getting ready. This was wonderful as it was only about 5mins drive from La Mon which meant I knew I could even hop between the two venues. I find it amazing how so many brides seem really organised and relaxed and everything is running pretty well on time. I really enjoy the brides house as its a super chance to capture the feeling for the day and all those little details. Its wonderful to also capture the raw emotion on a fathers face when he sees his daughter in her dress for the first time.
A couple of shots outside the house and I headed over to the hotel where the men were already waiting for the arrival of Lauren and the bridesmaids.
The Ballygown Suite at La Mon is a wonderful modern and contemporary suite. There is lots of glass and incredible natural light which makes the photographs beautifully relaxed.
After the ceremony I always like to allow couples a little time toi relax and chat to some of their guests, while still keeping an eye on the time to make sure that we do get the pictures to capture the day. Then it was out into the sunshine for some more pictures of Lauren and Stephen and the bridal party.
Soon it was time for the meal to be called and everyone made theor was inside for the speeches and cutting of the cake. Later in evening there was of course a bit of dancing.
